Why is the NH3 analyzer so important for Workers

There are many people out there who work in various industries and the fact is that plenty of them, especially those in the manufacturing industries, work in environments where ammonia is present in high quantities in the breathable air. The fact is that breathing in such polluted air will not be beneficial for anyone's health and that is why in most of these environments NH3 monitoring systems should be installed.

Many people know that ammonia is actually an irritant, but that is only when they are exposed to it in moderate quantities. If someone will be exposed to ammonia in great levels, then that person might die. Generally, ammonia is used as a building block, cleaning product and refrigerant for pharmaceuticals and fertilizers. Typical applications where NH3 monitoring is required and when a high rise in the substance's presence in the air can happen are as following: textile mills, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals manufacturing, fertilizer production, refrigeration facilities (like ice rinks, food processing, ice cream plants), meat packing, manufacturers who use ammonia as a cleanser and of course, ammonia manufacturers. Wherever the dose of ammonia is higher, people will have their respiratory system irritated and that is why NH3 monitoring is so important to be considered.

When researching gas detectors, industries need to actually be very much aware of the exposure limits the human body can withstand, because this will guide them to knowing exactly where their employees will work, how much ammonia will be present in the air they breathe, for how long they are going to be exposed to those high levels of ammonia and so on. That is why, regardless of industry, if there are places where people are exposed to ammonia, those industries should use an NH3 analyzer. This will tell them the exact quantity of ammonia in the air and if it's actually higher than the admitted limits.

What is also great is that many of the latest ammonia analyzers on the market can be used in a variety of mediums and some of them can also be used in blast freezers. Even better is that they won't require heaters to keep their sensors running. Moreover, the ammonia cells' response time is not affected by the low temperature. However, there are cases when high dosages will be present, so based on the NH3 analyzer used for monitoring, some of them will take as little as 30 minutes for being replaced.

As this article states, any industry out there that has its workers exposed to ammonia will need to use an NH3 analyzer. This device should be installed as soon as possible, because right now there are many people who are exposed to dangerous levels of ammonia without even being aware of the side effects it will later have on their health.

I would argue that most of the companies who use NH3 monitoring do so for production reasons, not so much worker safety.

NH3 analyzer is not only good for worker safety - its needed since it can easily clog up filters
