Flue Gas Desulphurization

This process involves removing sulfur dioxide (SO2) from combustion exhaust gases from fossil fuel plants or other sources of SO2 emissions. Measurement of SO2 levels in flue gases is necessary for determining if desulphurization methods are effective, or need to be improved. Desulphurization methods include wet scrubbing, spray-dry scrubbing, the wet sulfuric acid process, SNOX flue gas desulphurization and dry sorbent injection. Flue gas desulphurization should effectively remove at least 90% of SO2 in flue gases. Our instruments can be used to monitor SO2 levels in flue gases to ensure they are kept to a minimum.
