UNISEARCH has a strong research team of physicists, chemists and engineers who carry out internal R&D to keep our continuous emissions monitoring equipment and other products at the leading edge of the industry. We also take on contracted research projects funded by both governmental and industrial enterprises. 

Current contract R&D include:

• Gasoline Grade Monitoring Instrument: based on Raman spectroscopy for rapid determination of different grades of gasoline
• Particle Monitoring: by long-path laser scattering technology
• On-Road Auto Exhaust Monitoring:  application of the LasIR for rapid CO, CO2, NO, HC, and methane monitoring in an integrated , automated configuration
• Electric Arc Steel Furnaces: LasIR measurements of CO and other gases for process control
• Multipath:  we aim to increase multipath in-situ measurement capabilities to 32-long path and 32-point measurements with a single instrument for tomographic mapping
• Fire Detection: Using tunable diode laser technology
