UNISEARCH ASSOCIATES INC. was founded in 1980, as an R&D and specialty Instrument Company. It pioneered and became world-leaders in the use of Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS) for air measurements; a position which it still enjoys today.

Unisearch introduced its LasIR system of instruments in 1994. These instruments extend our TDLAS technology to the use of telecommunication Tunable Diode Lasers. Applications include air quality measurements, fence-line monitoring, CEM and process control. Systems have been installed around the world.

The company developed an improved Differential Absorption Spectrometer (DOAS) system for measuring criteria and other important pollutants. In 1995, the technology was licenced to Thermo Environmental Instruments which is now manufacturing and marketing this instrument through its worldwide agent network.

In 1995, UNISEARCH acquired advanced FTIR technology from Radian Corporation and opened its Austin TX plant to manufacture FTIR instruments. A number of systems have been developed and installed for fence-line monitoring, and for extractive CEM and process control.

The company also developed the patented Luminox® line of instruments based on a novel, surface chemiluminescence technique. These instruments are lightweight, battery-operated and highly sensitive and are used to measure NO2, NO, NOy, O3 and PAN.

UNISEARCH maintains a strong R&D focus to retain its leadership in existing products and to develop new product lines. Contract research programs are conducted to meet specific needs of Governmental and Industrial clients. The Company offers Measurement Services. Industrial and Government clients have used our well-equipped mobile laboratories, as well as air-born platforms, in a number of measurement programs.
